Lecture Vs Mall
The first thing that comes to people’s mind when the hear the words “Islamic lecture” is BOREDOM!
It’s funny how people judge an Islamic lecture before even attending it, but once you tell a person about a new mall or a movie.. You’ll find them in the beginning of the queue..
They don’t even get the same expression about the movie being boring.. but they tend to explore it.. Whereas the lecture, they tend to ignore it!
I really wish that people would do the same when it comes to lecture..
It really upsets me how people would make unbelievable excuses in order to ditch the lecture
Ok, Ok.. I won’t deny that I was one of the girls who used to ditch islamic lectures in school.. but believe me I regret it alot, cos I know what I have missed..
When I say “Islamic Lecture”, Don’t picture it as it consisting of an angry strict lecturer that shouts at his/her audience.. No No No!
To be honest, it depends on the person who’s having the lecture..
I’m the type that doesn’t go to any lecture, yet I try my best not to judge until I attend the lecture..
I started attending a lecture, since I don’t recall when, and the lecture is amazing.. seriously!
The woman who lectures us is a woman who knows how to reach into the heart of her audience..
She knows how to convince us about what’s wrong and right..
She’s like a mother, sister and friend..
believe me I’m not exaggerating..Alhamdulillah her lectures aren’t strictly “DEAD SERIOUS” but you can say her islamic lectures are interesting, funny, serious and heart touching..
She talks about family issue’s, teenage problems, mothers problems, our beloved prophet , how to get closer to Allah and what paths to follow..Anyway, the reason of this long introduction is because i would like the girls to attend a lecture in Masjid Mohammad al shaikh in AL twar - on the opposite road of Al twar center..
the lecture is held every wednesday from 5:30 until al maghrib prayer..
Our lecturer is Aunt Widad Lootah *most of you are aware of her*
The only thing I want from all you visitors is to attend just one lecture, only one.. After that you can think about whether you would like to attend continuously or simply stop.. but please, think of it from this way, that you will be gaining ajir inshaAllah..
If you would like to know more about the lecture , dont hesitate to contact me..
I organised lectures for quite a while and the majority of the time i’d get that same reaction from people.
Half the problem is the da’wah scene is so poor along with the general tarbiyyah in the masjids.
May Allah guide us all.
asalamu aleykum
you have to look it from their point of view too,,,,'’who wants to skip a weekend outing for a lecture !!'’ (their mentality)
try to do something else after the lecture with those girls something ‘’fun'’
put your heart into it,,have ikhlass and inshaAllah you will see some hearts change
last time when i came to her lecture i invited all my cousins and u know how all of them came lol i told them that i’ll take u to chillies after the lecture. that thing shje3d them to come.
i really like her letures mashalla they are amazing… this week enshalla i’ll try my best to come.. and i’ll try inviting my friends too..
I enjoy her lecture to0…
beneficial , and opens our thougts…
I also like the environment there, where you feel that we are “really” all sisters, and islam is lived to the max. beautiful meaning over there…
