Thank You Allah,
I always realize how precious my health is when I get sick. I get to know how valuable it is. Losing one’s health is the worst thing to be honest, because health is a great gift from Allah. I have been getting sick regularly now and unfortunately it is tiring me a lot. I try to be thankful because even though I am going through a lot, but I know that what I am going through is nothing comparing to those who are severely ill such as those who suffer from cancer and AIDS. Alhamdulillah, all thanks to you Allah.
I can never compare my illness to theirs because they have lost something very precious, something most people neglect and give no importance to. Who you may ask? I shall clarify my point.
Those who take drugs and smoke are those who are ungrateful to Allah’s gift to us, to them health isn’t a necessity but unfortunately those who are ill envy them a lot. Why?
A person who takes drugs knows the consequences, yet he still smokes, thinking that health is very cheap. Unfortunately those who suffer from AIDS, Cancer and other diseases haven’t chosen to get such diseases but because it was Allah’s will they have those diseases. A person who suffers from a severe sickness wishes if he could regain his health while those who have their health are messing around with it.
Allah has shown us all two paths, the right path and the wrong, yet people insist on following the wrong path and sell their health for worthless things, things that would satisfy their wants for a couple of hours but would make them suffer in the long run. They sell their health for Satan’s sake, yet once they lose it they totally regret, I ask them “what’s the use of regretting when you had the chance to stop?”
We should all make dua’a during our prayers asking Allah to maintain our health and not to take it away from us, because it is such a great gift from Allah.
Those who are blind, wish if they could see the sun shine, those who can’t hear wish to hear, those who can’t walk wish to just stand up, and those who suffer from AIDS wish if they could regain their immune system once again.
All thanks to Allah that I am in good health, yes I am sick now, very tired yet my sickness is nothing comparing to others. Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah..
May Allah maintain the health of all Muslims..
Ameen..
I found your blog by chance, dear sister you made me meditate there are many stupid blogs around. Many stupid words come out of the mouths of people , but your words touched me, may Allah give you the best of health and deen.
My study course need me to go to the hospital because sometimes we have classes and lectures there. Throughout the day, we get the chance to see a lot of patients with so many kinds of illness, severe diseases, trauma, shock, chronic and a lot others that we’ve never seen or imagine before. It’s really sad to see them just lying on bed, couldn’t even move a finger, or some can’t even talk but eyes ere wide open looking at nothing. Scary, huh!
Even now, that i’m young and healthy and fine, alhamdulillah, that i can talk and walk and smile and laugh, i know that it’s not possible if that’s person lying on the bed would one day be me. Sounds creepy ya, but even if we keep our health, it’s not possible if He wants us to be ill, to test our patience and iman.
And what you said is true sister…
Allah has shown us all two paths, the right path and the wrong, yet people insist on following the wrong path and sell their health for worthless things, things that would satisfy their wants for a couple of hours but would make them suffer in the long run. They sell their health for Satan’s sake, yet once they lose it they totally regret, I ask them “what’s the use of regretting when you had the chance to stop?”
btw, nice post!!!
Really thought provoking post!
We take health for granted- a 21 year old friend is in hospital now- doctors say he will not come out of the coma! He is destined to return to his Lord!
I advised the family to donate his organs- let his death be life for someone else!
But there is too much difference of opinion in our small community- I pray they make the right choice…
Something else I realize is that when we’re ill and in pain we can’t wait for that pain to go away. And we know most likely it’s the kind of pain that will in sha’ Allah eventually go away. What about Qiyama? And the Hellfire? The kind of pain that’s too much and will not go away for the disbelievers.
Allaahumma 3afina wa3fu 3anna!
Oh true … err.. too much of choco isn’t bad for health, right ?
Yet most of us like to go back to Allah when things go wrong and when Allah relieves us then we are back to polytheistic actions..
