So you think you know me?
People are not always given the chance to prove themselves, neither are they given the chance to show who they really are. We jump to conclusions and assumptions acting as if we know how the person is thinking or what their intention is behind their actions. Unfortunately, we don’t always know how people think or what people have in mind. It’s just that we don’t allow ourselves to listen to them or try to understand them. We have this image of that person in our head and it stays with us as long as we live, but we don’t try to understand that person more. This behavior leads to a lot of misunderstandings and a lot of hard feelings. That is why, we should try our best to hear what the other person has to say and not make our own assumptions. One major drawback of this behavior is that it leads to “bad assumption” which is known as “so’u al than” and we know that this is not welcomed in our Religion, we as Muslims. Not all people are aware that this behavior lies within them and not all know how this affects the other person, the person who is THOUGHT to be understood but the truth is that they know little about them. We should try to get to know people better before jumping to conclusions in order to reduce the chances of a conflict occurring and hard feelings.
This advice I give to myself and to all the readers,
May Allah forgive all Muslims
